Madeira wines may be world famous, but, not as well known in the world, is its mysterious fish, the espada. Its features are terrifying, with a snake-like body, bulging eyes and razor sharp teeth. Because of its aversion to the sun, no one has ever seen the espada swimming in its natural habitat, 6,500 feet below sea level. What is it about the solar rays that the espada fears? |
