San Antonio River
1996 36" x 18", oil on board and mixed media. Owned by a private collector SAN ANTONIO Hard to believe, but San Antonio’s city government in the 1920’s wanted to pave over the San Antonio river and use it as a sewer system. It wasn't until 1939 that a river project broke ground for what is now known as San Antonio’s River Walk. As you stroll the river’s walkways, the air will dance with different music from country western, Spanish guitar, rhythmic jazz, to finally the fun filled joyous music of a Mariachi band. Sit at one of many riverside restaurant tables with your margarita and watch the world glide by and just relax. |
